Some days on a long journey are just about moving the trip along. These three days were spent getting through Texas, a long slog and with little interest for us bi-coastal dwellers. The trip between Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Schulenburg, to North Llano in Junction, to Van Horn, and then finally into Las Cruces, New Mexico, is more about getting a good spot for the RV and yearning for internet and cable. Otherwise, the landscape views along the highway this year were greener than in the past, and the time change into the Mountain Time Zone was predictable. The nights were cold, below freezing, and the days warmed into the low 50s.
